When people hear that an attorney has been named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, they often think of awards, rankings, and professional achievements. While those things certainly matter, for Anthony Halmon, the recognition means something much simpler.
It means showing up every day for the people who trust him with some of the most difficult situations of their lives.
Anthony didn’t become an attorney because he was chasing accolades. In fact, one of his favorite stories about becoming a lawyer has nothing to do with the courtroom. He jokes that one of the reasons he wanted to become an attorney was so that one day his friends could confidently say, “You’ll be hearing from my lawyer.” It’s a line that always gets a laugh, but behind it is something much deeper—a desire to protect the people he loves and become someone others can rely on.
That same mindset carries into his work today. Whether he’s helping a business owner resolve a dispute, guiding a family after an injury, or answering questions during a stressful time, his goal has always been the same: be someone clients can count on.
That’s why being selected to the Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2024, 2025, and 2026 is meaningful—not because of the title itself, but because it reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and relationships built with clients, colleagues, and the community.
More Than the Award
The Rising Stars distinction recognizes outstanding attorneys who are either under 40 or have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Selection is based on peer nominations, professional achievements, and independent research.
But if you ask Anthony about it, he probably won’t spend much time talking about the selection process. Instead, he’ll tell you about the people who helped him get here.
His own journey wasn’t a straight line.
Growing up in the Tampa area, Anthony attended Gaither High School before graduating from Land O’ Lakes High School. As a teenager, he was expelled after being caught in possession of a firearm. Instead of allowing one mistake to define him, he turned his life around, went to college, and continued working—something he’s done nearly his entire life.
Along the way, he became the first attorney in his family and the first person to earn a doctorate, achievements that represent years of determination rather than overnight success. He’s also been open about his own mental health challenges, experiences that have strengthened the empathy he brings to every client relationship.
Built on Community
Anthony moved back to Tampa in 2021 because he wanted to build both his career and his life in the community he calls home.
Outside the office, he’s spent years volunteering as an assistant Little League coach, mentoring young athletes on and off the field. His Christian faith is also an important part of who he is. He has served in youth ministry, led Sunday small groups, participated on the worship team—and yes, even rapped during services from time to time.
Family also keeps him grounded. He enjoys spending time with his nephews, especially after recently welcoming two new additions to the family.
Building Halmon Law
When Anthony opened Halmon Law, he didn’t have an established client list waiting for him. He started with zero clients, believing that if he focused on serving people well, everything else would follow.
That philosophy still guides the firm today.
Rather than focusing on volume, Halmon Law focuses on relationships—taking the time to understand each client’s situation, offering honest advice, and helping people make informed decisions during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Looking Ahead
Being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for three consecutive years is certainly an honor, but it doesn’t change what matters most.
